One- on- One Tutoring

 Mylia Pittman is a homeschool mom of three. She has been homeschooling her children for over 10 years. Her husband of 19 years is a Pastor in Tobaccoville, NC. 

Mylia has always loved education. She even volunteered after school as a tutor of third graders when she was in fifth grade! In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family, playing the piano, hiking, kayaking, and playing pickleball. Her favorite place to be is at the beach! 

 I am a dedicated Exceptional Children (EC) teacher with 14 years of experience at the elementary level. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and am National Board Certified. Throughout my career, I have been committed to supporting diverse learners by providing individualized, specially designed instruction that meets each child’s unique needs.

I have extensive experience working one-on-one with students with dyslexia, specific learning disabilities, autism, and behavioral challenges that impact learning. I am trained in evidence-based programs including iSPIRE, Reading Foundations, and LETRS, and I use these tools to deliver targeted, effective instruction. I believe in meeting students where they are, using hands-on, engaging activities to build skills and close learning gaps while fostering confidence and independence.

Outside of the classroom, I am a proud parent to two children, Stella (4) and Spencer (9). I enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and making meaningful memories with my family.
